Looking for Network Marketing Success in All the Wrong Places?

  You joined a great network marketing company with a fabulous compensation plan, a revolutionary product, and your upline is passionate and inspiring. It seems like this time you hit the jackpot. Several weeks have gone by... or months... and you're still not sponsoring people in droves nor are those big checks rolling in.


*Have you made your list of names and called everyone... more than once?
*Have you been attending the weekly company trainings and hotel meetings?
*Have you been sharing the plan with everyone you meet in the grocery store checkout line and at the post office?
*Have you been handing out business cards and samples to all the parents on the soccer team, at gymnastics and at the PTA?
*Have you run out of people to talk to and purchased network marketing leads?
*Have you continued to develop your "Why"... making it bigger each time?

What's wrong?

Compensation plans, products, company founders and uplines don't determine your network marketing success. It's how you market your business that determines your success.

What's marketing? Marketing creates the awareness of the product in the marketplace. "But doesn't my network marketing company market the product?" Yes, the company markets the product... to you, the distributor, not to the end customer.

And besides, your goal is to market the network marketing opportunity, not the product. Wealth is achieved in network marketing through the leverage of sponsoring people into your business, not in retailing products. Your goal is to grow your downline.

So why aren't all the traditional recruiting methods your upline taught you working? Because you're trying to sell something to someone who most likely has no interest in what you're selling. That's a tough sell.

How would it be if instead of chasing and harassing prospects, they were coming to you? What if you could have access to prospects all over the country, rather than be limited to people you meet in your hometown? How would it be if you got up every morning and had phone calls and emails to return from interested prospects?

So how do you get prospects to come to you? You advertise your network marketing opportunity so interested prospects can self-select and come to you.

How do you find those people who are interested in your network marketing opportunity? Market where they are likely to be and make them aware of your network marketing business.

For cost efficiencies and access to the largest pool of prospects, I prefer to market on the Internet. There are many options available, many of them inexpensive or free, and it expands my reach to anywhere in the world.

So you're new to marketing and especially new to online marketing. How do you get started? I would start by developing a blog, a web journal on the Internet. There are many blogging platforms, many are free and the rest are quite inexpensive.

Blogging will get you started writing, help you develop your "voice" and establish your presence on the Internet. Blogging is effective because the search engines love blogs due to the interactive nature... your readers can leave comments for you which creates a dialog between you and your readers.

To be most effective you should update your blog at least twice a week. What to write about? Start by keeping a diary of your history with network marketing... your failures and your successes. This is important because your readers want to know these things about you:
1. are you real?
2. can they trust you?
3. will you help them?

Sharing your failures lets your readers know that you're real because you've been where they are. And sharing your success obviously communicates your ability to help them. Willingness to help? That should come through in the tone of your articles, your "voice."

So if you're tired of your track record and would like to achieve network marketing success, stop using the traditional, outdated recruiting methods. Start using modern marketing methods, especially the Internet.
